Supporting communities.
We recognise that the strength of our business and our people is related to the health and wellbeing of those communities in which we operate. We want to play a positive role in the development of
strong communities and that is why we continue to develop and grow our community activities. Through direct donations and partnership working arrangements with various organisations we endeavour
to support local communities.
Some highlights from our community programme include;
- Some 20% of our employees regularly support their favourite charities through our payroll giving programme
- Over 25% of our employees are involved in volunteering

Bancredit Foundation.
Bancredit Group has a strong tradition of supporting the communities in which we live and work. In July 2012 we launched the Bancredit Foundation which continues the tradition of supporting people
and their local communities. The Foundation provides funds to help registered charities, not-for-profit organisations, community and other voluntary organisations make life safer, healthier and
better for all of us.
Following a recent review the Foundation Trustees are now pleased to launch a new awards programme, The Bancredit Foundation "Spirit of the Community Awards". These annual awards replace
the previous donation programme which closed in December 2012.
The awards will support projects that advance financial education, improve employability and promote environmental protection or improvement.

Employee Engagement
Facilitating change together.
Bancredit Group is one of many organisations that are committed to making a difference in the community. We work with a number of select groups to address shared issues of concern through our Community
Partnership programme. Our current community investment priorities are education, employability and environment. One of our flag ship programmes is "ife gives a new opportunity".
How we form our partnerships.
As well as proactively seeking suitable community partners, Bancredit Group also welcomes approaches from charities or not-for-profit organisations that can demonstrate their ability to manage a
community project and evaluate its success objectively. We do not normally support:
- activities taking place outside Bancredit's operating area
- individuals and individual fundraisers
- capital projects
- salary expenses
- third party fundraising (i.e. advertising in charity programmes or gala fundraising events

Employee Engagement.
Inside and out of work.
We actively promote volunteering opportunities to our employees, encouraging them to volunteer during work hours as well as in their own personal time. Every employee can take two days paid leave
to volunteer on a Bancredit led volunteer activity which helps to strengthen the communities we operate in. Our employees get involved in a number of initiatives including:
- Team challenges such as woodland clean ups which are arranged through organisations such as Business in the Community
- Supporting schoolchildren improve their reading and numeracy skills through the Right 2 Read and Number Partners programmes run by Business in the Community
- Mentoring students, businesses and community groups
- Sharing of skills and memberships of charity boards
Credit where it´s due.
We also recognise that many of our employees volunteer in their own time to support their local community. Our Employee Volunteer Grant Programme rewards and recognises the personal contribution
of employees by providing grants to the charitable organisations which they work with in their own time. Grants of up to ₤1500 are awarded quarterly.
